Due to a recent promotion, Axalta is pleased to announce we are looking to hiring a Sales Manager for our Clinton Township, MI facility.  The Sales Manager will lead, develop, drive sales team; work with product managers and specialists to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible to manage 30-35 employees and grow sales, and people.  This person will be responsible for a major OEM customer of Axalta.


Essential Functions of the Sales Manager:


Strategy and Execution of Sales Plan

  • Effectively manage and grow sales while managing costs
  • Executes contracts to ensure successful company growth and customer satisfaction
  • Create new opportunities through strategic projects and customer relationships


  • Build customer intimacy through relationships, and managing customer expectations
  • Interface with functions to ensure product quality and availability
  • Promote introduction of new products and help manage the impact of customer-initiated changes

Team & Organization

  • Build, lead, and develop sales team
  • Monitor resources and alignment to meet customer needs
  • Facilitate monthly engineering and account manager meetings
  • Drive and document efficiencies in plant to demonstrate Axalta value to customer
  • Contact for Engineering involving sales and in plant concerns 


Qualifications of the Sales Manager:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 5+ years of automotive, chemical or related industry experience to include a combination of sales, technical and marketing experience displaying finance and business acumen
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities on a regular basis
  • Experienced at strategic account planning; led negotiation and management of multiple accounts
  • Knowledge of automotive OEM finishes and coatings experience desired but not required
  • Technical knowledge desired, but not required
  • Demonstrated skills in customer relationship management skills 
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
