This position is responsible for day to day execution of work assignments specific to either customer service or operational support activities following the procedures and work instructions that have been established for this function.

Specific Responsibilities


Customer Service:

  • Complete work as assigned to fulfill customer requests in a timely manner. 
  • Recorded complete requests in the designated tracking tool.
  • When required, obtain manager/supervisory review of work prior to release to customer.
  • Save copies of all completed work in the designated filing system within the function. 
  • Seek to identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the C&O function, including better use of existing tools and the addition of new tools or programs that will deliver efficiency, improved service or reduce costs.
  • Seek to identify opportunities to improve customer service, to anticipate customer requests, or develop tools to provide more proactive customer service. 

Operations Support:

  • Gather data and prepare reports related to the product stewardship function as required by various regulatory agencies and for various purposes in support of company operations, including, but not limited to TSCA 12b reports, Canadian CMP, S-71 surveys, TSCA CDR, substance volume tracking. 
  • Respond to requests for support related to required, including but not limited to import/export issues, tariff codes, substance inventory status.
  • Assist the sites with product stewardship or regulatory related issues such as issues related to dangerous goods description, labelling, special use material management, etc. When necessary, consult with other colleagues in PS&RA to provide support. 
  • Gain a working knowledge of SAP to provide assistance related to data transfer issues from the PS&RA systems to the ERP.
  • Work cooperatively with other PS&RA colleagues and other functions as necessary to ensure SDS distribution systems are in-place as required by customers or regulatory requirements.
  • Process SAP Country Inventory Blocks in SAP for North America.



  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related filed with minimum 2 years of chemistry coursework.
  • Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to understand complex regulations pertaining to chemical substances.
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Minimum 2 years in paint or related industry, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles, preferable at a coatings or chemical company.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and demonstrated ability to collaborate with SME’s in other disciplines in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for reporting that apply to both Axalta operations and customers using our products.
  • Current certification of training for all modes of hazardous materials transportation.
  • Competent in the requirements of GHS for SDS/labels to effectively respond to questions from customers, employees, operational functions.
