    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    Manages the development and implementation of market development, marketing programs, marketing policies and procedures which includes market research, product line management, segment/customer profitability analysis and improvement, prioritizing product development efforts, branding and advertising, communications, and other functional areas of marketing for business products and brands. Responsibilities may include recommending marketing strategies and philosophies, partnering with senior management, and integrating programs with sales team and customer base. The Market Segment Manager is distinguished by working multiple product lines and brands, having more involvement integrating marketing strategies across the business group, and is typically the top-level marketing role within the business group.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


    Potential to supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.

    Understands profitability at a product, product line, customer and segment level and develops strategies for improvement and expansion

    Partners with sales organization and maintaining and developing value based customer partnerships

    Develops and recommends marketing philosophies, strategies, and programs and presents plans for senior management approval.

    Manages the development, implementation, and administration of marketing programs, policies, and procedures; programs typically involve all product lines and brands within the group.

    Manages the development, design, and integration of multiple product lines across business divisions, which includes marketing and advertising materials based on marketing strategies and ensures proper branding, differentiation, messages, layout, and logos to reach the target market and desired results.

    Provides advice and counsel to employees, management, and senior management regarding marketing philosophies, strategies, questions and concerns.

    Manages competitive market research, such as pricing, product development, trends, sales, customer data, and other information, determines appropriate direction, and implements results.

    Develops reports and analyses regarding target markets, product pricing and development, sales or market forecasts, and customer base.

    Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensures compliance with these areas.

    Facilitates communication, develops relationships with sales representatives, distributors and customers to ensure programs are consistent and integrated within their operations.

    Reviews and develops a variety of projects, serves on management teams, develops reports and recommendations, and presents them to management as required.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:


    Eight years of professional marketing experience, including three years of management experience or equivalent.

    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent education and experience, MBA Prefferred

     

    • Supervising and evaluating employees;

    • Managing multiple marketing programs;
    • Financial Analysis and strategy development
    • Applying advanced marketing principles and practices;
    • Providing consultation and advice on various marketing and sales issues;
    • Working with cross functional and business relationships;
    • Developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures;
    • Interpreting and applying department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
    • Working with senior management;
    • Analyzing and researching functional and department information and determining actions;
    • PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications;
    • Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.

     

    TRAVEL EXPECTATION
    Approximately 50% depending on employee location
