    Responsibilities

    The Strategic Marketing Manager is an individual contributor, yet leadership role and will support the Global Refinish organization.  This $1.7B global business is the global leader in automotive refinish with ~25% market share.  The business has world renowned brands such as Spies Hecker, Standox and Cromax.  This role reports directly to the EVP and President, Global Refinish & EMEA.

     

    Primary responsibilities include:

     

    Data Analytics – Lead effort in two key areas.  First, Big Data and assisting the regional businesses in the analysis of customer data and turning it into meaningful, useful and actionable data that the business can use to make both tactical and strategic decisions.  Second, analysis of market data and trends to establish internal points of view on market drivers, growth, and potential impacts. 

     

    Licensing – develop a plan by working with internal (technology, business, legal) resources along with necessary outside resources to evaluate the product and brand licensing of Axalta Refinish intellectual property.  In addition, develop strategy for enforcement on technology infringement that leads to licensing, M&A, or ceasing of the infringement.  Once the plan is developed, lead and execute the plan.

     

    Strategy/M&A – Own the strategic planning process for Global Refinish including close partnership with the Director of Finance on M&A strategy, evaluation and development.  This includes the analysis of adjacent markets.  The Director will closely monitor actions against the plan to ensure progress.

     

    Competitor& Customer Analysis – Ongoing analysis of competitor behavior in the market.  Focus on key customers to monitor Axalta purchasing behavior, activity in the market, and potential consolidation risks and opportunities.

     

    Internal consulting – Act as a resource to the regional businesses as a subject matter expert on the above areas.

     

    Project Leadership – An example would be color tool analysis globally – cost, effectiveness, future strategy.

     

     

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s degree in Business, marketing, or engineering is required along a MBA.  A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive roles in marketing or business analytics and/or consulting background where a broad tool kit of strategic marketing skills has been developed.
