    The Process Engineer is a professional who researches, designs, develops, and analyzes processes in a manufacturing environment. The incumbent will be overseeing operations and maintenance, with an eye to improving function and efficiency through continuous improvement or capital projects. Additionally, an understanding of facility with quality cost concepts and techniques, the ability to communicate ideas and solutions effectively, the knowledge of how systems and processes operate, and the ability to find and solve problems will be critical to this position.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the design, basic data development, commissioning and start-up activities of powder manufacturing processes
    • Participates in PSM related events such as PHAs, PSSRs, Incident Investigations, etc
    • Develop and implements manufacturing process standards and best practices.
    • Implements technology upgrades that result in improved processes
    • Assists and resources manufacturing troubleshooting and root cause analysis
    • Resources manufacturing sites and personnel to improve, uptime, cost savings, product yield quality and safety
    • Leads and maintains a large active technical network.  Work with metrics and propose leveraging opportunities between sites
    • Lead “Product by process” effort (process controls and automation to improve process capability)
    • Coordinate key work and new initiatives with Ops and Technical and involves broader organization R&D /Marketing to address key improvement opportunities
    • Get work done through Influence management and the process technology organization across R&D, Process Technology, and operations functions
    • Drive lean manufacturing

    Qualifications

    • BS degree in Engineering or Business with a minimum of five years of experience in process design and engineering in a manufacturing setting
    • Demonstrated ability to: drive technical programs, work and contribute in a team environment, learn new technologies, effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously develop new technologies, be effective globally
    • Effective written and oral communication
    • Knowledge and use of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis
    • Basic knowledge of particle science and technology
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and/or support others in a team environment
    • Close work with sites in improvement implementation
