    Accounting & Fixed Assets Business Specialist


    Axalta is recruiting for a Facilities Support Fixed Asset and Accounting Specialist to manage critical projects and capital assets to meet corporate capital and project investment policies and SOX controls. The role is responsible for fixed asset activities at 1. Axalta’s Front Royal production site; 2. smaller manufacturing sites in Axalta’s network, and; 3. non-manufacturing Axalta facilities where our equipment and material is utilized.  The position requires close communication between site and corporate Engineering, Finance and Permanent Investment group.


    Primary Responsibilities 

    • Understanding of Fixed Asset policies, Capital (Project) guidelines along with SOX controls.
    • Become the Subject Matter Expert of QP1 Project Module (PM) and other project related systems (ex. EADB): set up projects, budgets, reporting.
    • Manage monthly project reconciliations.
    • Interact with Permanent Investment, Corporate and Regional Engineering, Axalta Tax group, Corporate Finance, Internal Auditing and Price Waterhouse Cooper to ensure compliance with corporate and legal accounting guidelines.
    • Perform Fixed Asset responsibilities for Front Royal and outside non-manufacturing facilities as well as resource new users at other Axalta sites.
    • Maintain documentation for projects and fixed assets.
    • Leads the Annual North America Fixed Asset Verification Process and Consolidation (SOX FA-09 Compliance)
    • Owns and Updates Procedures / Processes for SOX Compliance related to FA-01, 02, 08, 09


    Essential Skills/Knowledge:

    • Ability to research policies and provide guidance to on-site personnel as well as other Axalta sites.
    • Need to be proactive in identifying needs without direction from supervision.
    • QP1 knowledge required with Excel background preferred.
    • Must be flexible to adapt to changing systems and policies.
    • Drive standardization of fixed asset accounting and project set up across sites.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with various functions and reconcile various needs and requirements.
    • Ability to effectively resource / train personnel.
    • Ability to manage large data sets and analyze for themes, patterns and shifts in performance metrics.
    • Can work with cross functional teams to identify and improve workflows to a process
    • Capable of leading small to medium projects coordinating team members to accomplish goals
    • Detail oriented and capable of articulating cause and effect with data
    • Experience managing short-term projects
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.


    Role Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
    • 3-5 years of directly work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
    • Knowledge of SAP Enterprise system
    • Proficient with Microsoft office applications.
