    Position Summary: Axalta is seeking a dynamic, project-oriented HR Operations leader. The HR ops expert will lead the HR operations team through transformational build including centralizing key HR processes, blueprinting HR ops processes, building an HR operations team and effective payroll management.   Key deliverables are a demonstrated breadth of HR operational experience that includes data governance, controls management, mapping of key HR processes, payroll management & a general understanding of HR systems administration.


    • Partner with the Director of Global HRIS & HR Ops to provide transformational vision and leadership to build HR operations team including payroll, business processes, and shared services.
    • Effectively lead and manage payroll operations team for US and Canada.
    • Build and execute effective quality assurance, control and reporting processes to ensure data and money movement is secure and flowing correctly, payroll and tax calculations are accurate, and stakeholders are informed.
    • Collect, analyze, and present information to management and internal counterparts in Accounting, Compensation and Benefits, Finance, HRIS, Legal, and Tax.
    • Evolve and inform current metrics; enhance root cause analysis, processes, SOPs, and develop remediation plans when needed or where appropriate to address deficiencies.
    • Ensure all systems including payroll are compliant and integrated with key legal reporting concerns.
    • Implement operational payroll process controls to contain and eliminate risks; conduct control assessments to review effectiveness.
    • Partner to deliver payroll compliance with proper controls, measures and testing
    • Develop and execute effective time & attendance policies, systems and integration to Payroll to support the salaried and hourly populations, inclusive of employees covered by collective bargaining agreements.
    • Oversee compliance with payroll regulations including FLSA, DOL, Federal, State and local employment and tax laws.
    • Run, manage, and improve the day-to-day operations including employee life-cycle processes, transactions, data, and reporting for North America.
    • Build and drive continuous improvement through meaningful metrics and a culture of metrics-based management. Ensure quality metrics are in place that provide an accurate synthesis of HR Operations’ performance and yield actionable insights that drive improvement
    • Design, build, and manage a proactive reporting and analytics function that includes a dashboard of key human capital metrics providing insights into the state of management and culture at the enterprise level.
    • Lead and manage the domestic relocation program, as well as ad hoc Impat/Expat mobility areas.
    • Collaboration within HR, and other internal partners to ensure proper controls are in place that will protect HR data.
    • Liaise with Information Technology where needed.
    • Lead HR system transformation and implementation. Champion the HR system technology roadmap.


    Skills and Experience:

    • Relevant HR operations experience with specific knowledge and experience in the field of HR Operations, Payroll Management, Shared Services and a general understanding of HRIS.
    • Demonstrated understanding of compensation and benefits and the effect on systems and processes within the HR department.
    • Experience with compliance-related issues and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate HRIS policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated experience HR system integrations.
    • Demonstrated experience implementing controls management and data governance.
    • Displays a record of proactively identifying and solving issues.
    • Strong People and Project Management skills.
    • Training and experience in data analysis and human capital/human resources/workforce analytics. Can make inferences and recommendation from data analysis.
    • Experience in building dashboards and providing critical interpretation.
    • Proven track record of implementing transformative programs and process to enhance the overall effectiveness of an HR function in support of key organizational objectives. Continuous improvement expertise/skills a plus.
    • Experience with payroll operations with exempt and non-exempt populations.
    • Experience with vendor management.
    • Experience with Ultimate Software and SAP will be valued.
