    Responsibilities

    Lead and Manage the regional GBT team and represent the Electrodeposition technology efforts in the Regional Business teams (transportation and industrial) as needed.

    Support & Enable the global team to conceive, develop & Launch state of the art Electrodeposition coatings systems.

    • Enable new formulation concepts
    • Support the development of new resin architectures
    • Provide understanding of deposition mechanisms on new substrates and pretreatment processes
    • Maintain a contemporary analysis and awareness of the IP space of Electrodeposition coatings
    • Bring a global view and integrated developmental approach to Axalta’s development approach
    • Understand and explain the regional technical and processing differences

    Interact with customers technical organizations to develop deeper understanding of the specifications and challenges they face that drive new specifications

    Be a recognized thought leader in the industry and customer base

    Help to develop a next generation team of scientists and engineers

    • Lead critical thought and peer review in a team setting
    • Define technical development plans for junior team members
    • Challenge the team to think beyond the current practices and the state of the art

    Develop new methods to characterize and analyze Electrodeposition coatings.

    Help support the customers and business by leading troubleshooting exercises to find fundamental core causation and solutions

    Lead complex technology and product development projects

    Generate detailed project plans and identify key risks and interdependencies

    Communicate scientific information and development status in a clear and audience appropriate way

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, advanced degree desirable
    • 10+ years’ experience in progressive work experience in complex, matrix environment
    • 5+ years’ experience managing technical professionals
    • Technical knowledge and experience in managing new product development and product support programs.
    • Business acumen and knowledge of basic economics and budgeting.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills and organizational management skills.
    • Skilled at interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
    • Ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction.
    • General knowledge of various country employment laws and practices and employee relations.
    • Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
