    Responsibilities

    Axalta Coating Systems, North America headquarters is hiring for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to support the Vice President of the Americas Region. The incumbent will focus on driving awareness, interest, and buzz for Axalta and our global businesses through compelling content including press releases, media stories, case studies, and social media. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will have shared responsibility for internal and external communications throughout the organization and will work closely with business segments. The right candidate will work to ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand strategy and meet company standards to maintain and promote a positive image on behalf of the organization.

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Play a leading role in the creation of high-impact internal and external communications assets, such as case studies and customer stories, presentations, testimonial videos, infographics, white papers, and social media posts.
    • Responsible for editing, proofreading, ensuring the accuracy of all content internal and external communications, and adhering to Axalta’s style guides and standards.
    • Must be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently under tight deadlines and balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Develop a proactive approach to marketing & communications – identifying new initiatives and/or opportunities to support the growth in new business in the US
    • Develop and write engaging content for new initiatives and product launches
    • Develop compelling news and opinion-driven content and creative messaging to support building the brand and growing new business across all channels
    • Be a steward of the company’s reputation and brand
    • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of Axalta’s value propositions in covering marketing communications, market environment and competitive landscape
    • Developing and executing the tactical marketing communications plan to support the development of the business and grow the brand in the US
    • Assist with key corporate internal and external events
    • Provide communications support to C-level executives.
    • Position may require light travel.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field is preferred but additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Minimum of  ten (10) years of internal and external communication/public relations experience in a corporate or agency setting.
    • Additionally, the candidate must have at least three (3) years of experience managing communication programs in large, multi-divisional organization.
    • The ideal candidate must have exceptional writing and proofreading ability.
    • The ideal candidate will have experience working with agencies.
    • Candidate must be proficient in a variety of word-processing, presentation software (especially Powerpoint), and database applications.

     Additional Skills and Experience:

    • Significant knowledge of media and communication vehicles including print, radio, television and electronic media.
    • Excellent verbal communication public speaking and media relations, writing and editing skills and strong communication planning ability.
    • Able to link organization objectives to communication strategies.
    • Participatory style, high energy, self-starter
    • Adept at working collaboratively in a team environment while also displaying independence and initiative.
    • Ability to maintain high productivity, while balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Proficient in a variety of word-processing and presentation software, database applications
    • Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
